Deer Hunting
Granger Ranch Hunting

We offer 2 options for deer hunting: early season archery from September 4 to October 17, also a big game rifle season starting around October 21 to November 25.
Early season archery hunting for deer can offer quite a challenge. Often ten to twenty bucks will be grouped and traveling together.  This gives you a good choice for deer but also presents a very interesting hunt.
Late season "rut hunts" bring out the very big bucks, but also bring very tough weather conditions. Deep snow and cold temperatures can be expected but the rewards are great.
We like to have deer no smaller than 4x4 shot on our place, although very large 3x3 bucks are not uncommon and are allowed.
As a ranch landowner we are allowed to sponsor 15 deer tag applicants per year, which increases the odds of drawing a deer tag.  Successful applicants from the land owner sponsored deer and general drawing will be known at the same time. Landowner sponsored certificates must be acquired through us and sent in with your applications to Montana Fish, Wildlife, and Parks. If successful you will be allowed to hunt deer only on our property. General tag drawers may hunt anywhere in Montana. Bear hunts can be scheduled early because tags are available over the counter to everybody. However, because we are not outfitters, advance scheduling is not possible for deer hunts. Thus after tags are received we can begin to schedule deer hunting. Our hunting region number is 413.
